The Kenai Peninsula offers the most accessible slice of genuine Alaskan wilderness - tidewater glaciers visible from boat decks, orca and humpback whale encounters, and the legendary brown bears of Katmai within a fly-out's reach. Seward is the hub, and from there the options are extraordinary: full-day Kenai Fjords boat tours that bring you face-to-face with calving glaciers and seabird colonies, multi-day sea-kayaking in Resurrection Bay, and the long drive down to Homer's spit on Kachemak Bay. Season still decides the trip - May - September.
