The briefing

Why this one

The San Pedro–Uyuni corridor is one of the great desert journeys on earth. The three-day laguna route passes through landscapes that change colour every hour — white salt, red rock, green lagoons with pink flamingos — and ends on the world's largest mirror.

Valle de la Luna at sunset in the Atacama, El Tatio geysers erupting in the pre-dawn cold at 4,500m, a three-day laguna route across the Bolivian Altiplano passing pink flamingo lakes and red rock deserts, and a salt flat sunrise at Salar de Uyuni.

The rhythm

Pre-dawn geyser mornings; afternoon moon valley walks; overnight jeep camps on the altiplano; salt flat sunrise.

The energy

Elemental, surreal, and altitude-drunk.

Before you go

El Tatio sits at 4,300m — altitude sickness at this elevation is common. Acclimatise in San Pedro (2,400m) for two days before heading higher. The Laguna Route reaches 5,000m at the highest point.

Adventure Missions are planning inspiration, not real-time travel or safety guidance. Always verify weather, permits, closures, local regulations, and official conditions before you leave.
